Orthodontic RecordsDiagnostic records will need to be taken once Dr. Kemp has indicated there is a need for orthodontic treatment.
The Panoramic X-ray is an x-ray that is digitally taken. The machine rotates around your head to give Dr. Kemp and Dr. Rice a picture of your teeth, jaws and other important information. It is especially effective in viewing development, position and eruption of teeth. Our digital x-ray machine significantly decreases the exposure time reducing radiation. This process is also better for the environment as it doesn’t use photo chemicals and traditional film thus eliminating waste. Dr. Kemp and Dr. Rice alway use the latest technology available to insure their patients are taken care of the best possible way. The Cephlometric X-ray is a digital x-ray designed to evaluate jaw alignment. Cephlometric analysis allow Dr. Kemp and Dr. Rice to study relationships between bony and soft tissue landmarks and can be used to diagnosis facial growth abnormalities and assist in the treatment planning of your treatment. Digital facial and intraoral photos will be taken in the beginning of treatment for the use of treatment planning. Digital dental photographs produce high quality images allowing us to document the transformation of your smile. We will scan your teeth with the 3M™ True Definition Scanner. This digital technology is another way Kemp and Rice Orthodontics provides you with the most advance technology. The 3M™ True Definition Scanner is a digital intraoral scanner that captures a 3D video “impression” or model of your teeth. In some cases this eliminates the need for impressions. The assistant will use a small, lightweight wand and gently guide it around your teeth. It is fast and comfortable. The impression is the first step in making a model of your teeth. A tray is filled with a putty type material. This tray is placed in your mouth and held against your teeth until it hardens which produces a mold of your teeth. This mold is then filled with plaster to form a model of your teeth.
