Dr. David KempDr. David Kemp earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Dr. Kemp earned his Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He also earned his postdoctoral Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of Tennessee at Memphis.
Dr. Kemp continues to further his education by participating in and lecturing to various dental study clubs, both locally and internationally. He is a member of the acclaimed philanthropic Pinnacle Study Group. Dr. Kemp serves on the National Orthodontic Advisory Council of 3M Company’s orthodontic division, where he most recently helped conceive, design, and bring to development a new generation of orthodontic bracket. Dr. Kemp also serves on the advisory board of an orthodontic software company where he helps to push the application of cutting-edge technology in the orthodontic field. Dr. Kemp has been practicing orthodontics in Franklin and Brentwood since 1986.
Dr. Kemp is married to Rhonda McMillen Kemp. Rhonda holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree. Rhonda owns a creative management firm. In her spare time, she is a freelance writer whose specialty is family history research.
Dr. and Mrs. Kemp have one son, Christopher, who lives in Nashville. The Kemps are avid fans of the Nashville Predators and the Tennessee Titans. In his spare time, Dr. Kemp loves to play golf and tries to squeeze in a round with his buddies when the opportunity arises.
Dr. Alec J. RiceDr. Rice is a native of Carmi, Illinois, a rural agricultural community located approximately 3 hours north of Nashville. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and minor degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning the highest academic honor of Bronze Tablet. Dr. Rice attended dental school at Southern Illinois University located in Alton, Illinois, near the St. Louis metroplex, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree. He graduated at the top of his dental class earning the prestigious Alpha Omega award and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Following dental school, Dr. Rice decided to pursue his passion for orthodontics and chose to continue his education by specializing in the field. Dr. Rice completed his orthodontic residency at one of the top orthodontic residency programs in the country at Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry located in Dallas, Texas, where he spent three years as an orthodontic resident treating orthodontic patients to earn his Master of Science degree in Oral Biology and Certificate in Orthodontics. Throughout his orthodontic residency, Dr. Rice enjoyed working with orthodontic patients of all ages and was able to interact with the renowned craniofacial team at Dallas Children’s Hospital, with emphasis on orthodontic cleft lip and cleft palate treatment.
Outside of the office, Dr. Rice enjoys hiking, fishing, kayaking, and playing on his local intramural basketball, softball, and sand volleyball teams. He and Dr. Kemp combine their golfing talent each year in support of the Brent Peterson Foundation to find a cure for Parkinson's disease. Dr. Rice is an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, and Nashville Predators.
